Stanton drops last home game of season to Norfolk Catholic

The Stanton Football Team lost 56-12 at home to Norfolk Catholic Friday night.

Marcus Spotanski was 8-17 for 111 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Sutton Pohlman made 6 catches for 103 yards, and scored once.

Pohlman made 17 tackles while Zak Hansen had 10. Issiah Borgmann added 7.

The Mustangs had 147 yards of total offense, including 111 passing.

The Knights are a very good team, but Pohlman and Spotanski had good games for Stanton.

The Mustangs (2-6) round out the season at Hartington Cedar Catholic (3-5) Friday night.

The Trojans lost 13-7 at Battle Creek last week.

Cedar Catholic is another one of those teams who is better than their record would indicate, in my opinion.

It has been a tough season for Stanton, but the Mustangs have to go out there and go out with a fight.

It's the last game of the season and the last time these seniors will ever play a game for Stanton and dawn the Black and Orange Colors.

It's the final time a lot of these seniors will ever suit up for a game of organized football.

The Mustangs have to go out there and play hard and make this one an all out slugfest.

Neither team is going to the playoffs so this is their "playoff" game so to speak.

Stanton has to come out and play as if there's no tomorrow because there's not.

This is it for the Mustangs in 2018...this is the final game of the season for Stanton.

The Mustangs have to go out with a bang, and do everything they can to send their seniors out with a win.

A win also creates momentum for next season.

A win would be a lot better feeling heading into next year than a loss would be there's no doubt about that.

Stanton doesn't want to drop their final 7 games of the season, but that is what the Mustangs are staring in the face right now.

Stanton has to do something about that, and prevent it from happening.

The Mustangs have to throw the kitchen sink at the Trojans, and fight as hard as possible for four quarters.

Stanton has to play with Mustang pride and give it all they got.

It hasn't been the type of season Stanton was hoping for for sure, but the Mustangs can do themselves a lot of good by picking up a win to end the season.

Stanton has to go out there and play hard and let all heck break loose because heck there is no tomorrow for the Mustangs.
