Emerson-Hubbard trounces Omaha Christian Academy

The Emerson-Hubbard Football Team won 60-8 at Omaha Christian Academy Friday night.

The Pirates led 31-0 after one, and blanked the Eagles 22-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 53-0 lead into the locker room.

Emerson-Hubbard won the 3rd quarter 7-0 to go up 60-0 at the end of three.

OCA put up their only points of the game in the 4th quarter.

Spencer Burcham had 116 yards rushing on 8 carries, including three scores. Nolan Belt added 102 yards on 9 carries, and four touchdowns. Nolan Ostrand also had 102 yards rushing on 9 carries.

Jacob Kneifl made 16 tackles while Ostrand totaled 11.

The Pirates racked up 379 yards of total offense, including 330 rushing.

Dominate performance by Emerson-Hubbard Friday night. The Pirates took care of business early and put the Eagles away.

Emerson-Hubbard (4-2) takes on Pender (3-3) on the road Friday night.

The Pendragons won 48-42 at Mead in Double Overtime last week.

This should be a good game, a good clash between two rivals.

Emerson-Hubbard beat Mead by more points than Pender did, but the Pendragons beat Cedar Bluffs by a little more than the Pirates did.

With that said, I look for Emerson-Hubbard to find a way to win this game.

I feel the Pirates have been better and shown more up to this point.

Both teams have really improved over the course of the season, but I really like what Emerson-Hubbard has done the past couple of weeks.

The Pirates have put themselves in position to win a District Championship, and could do so with two wins to close out the regular season.

As good as Emerson-Hubbard has been, they need some help to get into the playoffs.

5-3 might be good enough, but right now the Pirates are a couple of spots from the final playoff spot in D-2 surprisingly.

So it could be a situation where Emerson-Hubbard has to win out just to make the playoffs.

I really hope the Pirates get in because they're certainly worthy of a berth.

This is a must win for Emerson-Hubbard though. The Pirates can't rely on beating Clarkson/Leigh the last game of the regular season.

Emerson-Hubbard has to come out and play as if their season is on the line because it is.

The Pirates have to treat this game like a playoff game in that if they lose their season is over.

Lose the final two games of the regular season and the playoffs are likely out the window for Emerson-Hubbard.

Again, I hope the Pirates don't get left out as they're a good team, in my opinion, but Emerson-Hubbard knows what they have to do to get in.

It's pretty much do or die for the Pirates Friday night so they have to go into Pender and do their job and win.
