Clarkson/Leigh dominates Elmwood-Murdock on road, loses McEvoy for season to another ACL Tear

The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team won 54-8 at Elmwood-Murdock Friday night, but it came at the expense of losing Tommy McEvoy to another torn ACL, ending his season.

This time McEvoy tore his other ACL.

I feel bad for him, especially given how talented he is.

It's too bad that he has to miss his final two years of high school sports.

As for the game itself, here is a scoring summary/recap:

First Quarter CLHS EHS

TD Lance Paprocki 42 Yd Run (Two-Point Conversion) 8 0

TD Tommy McEvoy 33 Yd Run (Failed Two-Point Conversion) 14 0
Second Quarter CLHS EHS

TD Lance Paprocki 3 Yd Run (Two-Point Conversion) 22 0

TD Carter Hanel 30 Yd Pass From Lance Paprocki (Failed Two-Point Conversion) 28 0

TD Eli Hays 20 Yd Pass From Lance Paprocki (Two-Point Conversion) 36 0
Third Quarter CLHS EHS

TD Eli Hays 47 Yd Run (Failed Two-Point Conversion) 42 0
Fourth Quarter CLHS EHS

TD Mason Whitmore 4 Yd Run (Failed Two-Point Conversion) 48 0

TD 55 Yd Run (Two-Point Conversion) 48 8

TD Trey Steffensmeier 15 Yd Run (Failed Two-Point Conversion) 54 8

Paprocki had 14 carries for 164 yards and 2 scores while going 5-6 passing for 131 yards and throwing a couple more TD's. Hays had 72 yards rushing on 5 carries, and scored once. He added 80 yards receiving on two receptions, and a score.

Drew Beeson had 9 tackles while Kyle Kasik registered 7.

Clarkson/Leigh had 509 yards of total offense, including 378 on the ground.

Everything is in Paprocki's hands right now, and if he can continue to step up and lead this team the Patriots can still go on and have a great season.

Clarkson/Leigh (1-1) plays host to East Butler (0-2) Friday night.

The Tigers fell 50-12 at home to Exeter-Millgan/Friend last week, and have a 48-28 loss to Howells-Dodge as well.

East Butler has faced a gauntlet of a schedule so far this year, and that gauntlet continues Friday night.

The Patriots have to come out and be ready to play smashmouth, in your face, physical football once again this week.

Paprocki has to play determined and like a man possessed.

Clarkson/Leigh has to go off on the Tigers, and play as if there is no tomorrow.

The Patriots have to be a team on a mission to destroy anyone or anything that gets in their way.

Clarkson/Leigh has two difficult games coming up after this one so the Patriots have to play possessed and take care of business against East Butler Friday night.

Clarkson/Leigh has to show no mercy, and come out and win big and dominate Friday night.
