Emerson-Hubbard shutout at Humphrey St. Francis

The Emerson-Hubbard Football Team fell 68-0 at Humphrey St. Francis Friday night.

The Flyers led 54-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and 62-0 at halftime. Humphrey St. Francis added 6 points in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.

Zach Shanks had 12 tackles while Garrett Blanke made 10 and Cameron Ahlers 7.

The Pirates had 63 yards of total offense, including 52 on the ground.

The Flyers are simply a great football team.

Emerson-Hubbard (1-1) plays host to Randolph (0-2) Friday night.

The Cardinals lost 63-0 at Pender last week.

So both teams are coming off tough and difficult losses.

I think whoever wins this game will do so because they were able to put last week's game behind them the easiest.

And I feel like the Pirates will have the quicker memory between the two teams.

That and Emerson-Hubbard is at home.

So I feel like the Pirates have a fairly good chance to win this one, but Randolph is still a good, tough, quality team and program.

Emerson-Hubbard is going to have to come out and play good football on Friday in order to pick up the win.

The Pirates have to be physical and ready to hit somebody.

I think it's fair to say that both offenses and defenses have to find a way to get back on track Friday night.

It's quite honestly a game of something's gotta give if you ask me.

Emerson-Hubbard has nothing to lose so the Pirates should come out and play their game, up to their capabilities, and just play an all around great football game.
