The following is from North Bend Central Head Coach Ryan Stieren:
We defeated Boys Town 42-29 Friday night. We scored on 4 of our first 6 possessions including a 74-yard TD pass from Brodey Johnson to Kaden Juhl right before halftime. Brodey Johnson completed his first 16 passes in a row during the first half.
In the second half, we kept control of the game and were able to hang on after they completed a long pass to get within 2 scores.
Offensively, Brodey Johnson was 29-37 for 359 yards and 3 TDs. Kaden Juhl and Austin Taylor each had 10 catches and a TD. Ethan Mullally ran 28 times for 122 yards and 3 TDs. Defensively, we were led by Austin Taylor who had 7 tackles (2 TFL) and an interception.
The Tigers gained 479 yards of total offense, and had 359 through the air.
"Offensively we were clicking and really did whatever we wanted which is outstanding because Boys Town really did a nice job of slowing down Wahoo the week before. Defensively, we really missed Breckin Peters (Quarantined) but having said that, we can all agree that we played really poor on that side of the ball and that must improve as we move on down the line." Stieren said.
This week's game against Schuyler has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
