The Pender Football Team came up short at Bloomfield Friday night, losing 28-24.
The Pendragons led 21-14 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Bees shutout Pender 8-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 22-21 lead into the locker room.
Bloomfield doubled up the Pendragons 6-3 in the 3rd quarter to make up the final score as no one scored in the 4th quarter.
Quinton Heineman made 3 catches for 89 yards, and scored twice.
Jacob Bruns made 14 tackles while Dylan Vogt had 10. Evan English made 7.
The defense gave up 317 yards of total offense, including 306 on the ground.
Tough loss for Pender as I really thought the Pendragons were going to win this one.
Pender (2-2) plays host to Allen (3-0) Friday night.
The Eagles beat Homer 50-13 at home last week.
Allen also beat the Bees 34-16 on the road the week before.
So the Pendragons can definitely win this one, but I feel it's going to be tougher now than if Pender was coming off of a win.
The Eagles are a very good and tough team, and will be difficult to beat.
Being 3-1 would of given the Pendragons a little more confidence coming into this one than coming i at 2-2, in my opinion.
Pender has to put the Bloomfield loss behind them though and regroup.
The Pendragons should win their final three regular season games regardless of what happens Friday night, but this would be the biggest win of the season for Pender by far.
The Pendragons are at home too, so Pender has to be optimistic about their abilities and that they can win.
The Pendragons have to believe it can and make it go happen.
