The West Point-Beemer Football Team lost 28-15 at Battle Creek Friday night.
The Cadets led 8-7 at the end of one before the Braves scored two touchdowns in the 2nd quarter to go up 21-8 at halftime.
Both teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter.
The Braves had 233 yards of total offense, including 182 on the ground.
Close loss to a good team for West Point-Beemer.
The Cadets (1-2) travel to O'Neill to take on the Eagles (1-2) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Eagles lost 53-18 at Central City last week.
The Bison lost 58-50 to Battle Creek so based on that score you would think West Point-Beemer has a pretty good chance to win.
O'Neill only lost by 3 in the opener to Hartington Cedar Catholic though so the Cadets definitely have a battle on their hands.
West Point-Beemer is definitely capable of going in there and picking up a win though.
It's a lengthy road trip, but the ride home will be a lot more jolly if the Cadets win.
West Point-Beemer has to draw first blood, build a lead, and force the Eagles to play from behind.
The Cadets have to be stout defensively, and shutdown O'Neill's offensive attack.
It has to be an all around great team performance from West Point-Beemer Friday night.
If the Cadets get the kind of effort they hope and expect then there's no reason to think they won't and can't win.
Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. on the Bull with pregame starting at 6:00.
