The Stanton Football Team won 42-20 at home over Clarkson/Leigh Friday night.

The Patriots led 8-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and 8-6 at halftime.

Stanton woke up in the 2nd half, putting up 14 3rd quarter points to build a 20-8 advantage at the end of three, and then outscored Clarkson/Leigh 22-12 in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.

Sutton Pohlman had 235 yards rushing on 22 carries, and scored four times. Gage Tighe added 64 yards on the ground on 14 carries, and scored once.

Stanton racked up 354 yards of total offense, including 316 on the ground.

The defense gave up 222 yards of total offense, including 193 rushing.

It was the Sutton Pohlman and Gage Tighe show Friday night. Those two really led the Mustangs.

Unfortunately, Stanton's game at Wisner-Pilger scheduled for this Friday has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic affecting the Gators. The Mustangs were unable to find a replacement game.

Stanton enters next Friday's home game against Howells-Dodge with a 3-1 record.
