The Stanton Football Team lost 50-14 at Wakefield on Friday.
Gage Tighe had 66 yards rushing on 9 carries.
Tighe and Sutton Pohlman each had 10 tackles while Mason Bruggeman totaled 7.
The Mustangs registered 197 yards of total offense, including 189 on the ground.
Good effort from Stanton, but not the result the Mustangs were hoping for.
Stanton (2-1) plays host to Clarkson/Leigh (2-1) Friday night.
The Patriots dominated East Butler 58-16 at home last week.
I look for the Mustangs to go out there and play a good game come Friday night.
I think Stanton will battle and fight very hard against Clarkson/Leigh.
The big things will be getting the run game going with Tighe and Pollman, and slowing down Patriots QB Lance Paprocki.
Those things are the keys to the game in my mind.
The Mustangs have to read their keys and tackle and wrap up well on defense and try and keep everything in front of them.
Stanton has to limit big plays and try and move the ball on offense and keep Clarkson/Leigh's defense on the field and offense off the field.
If the Mustangs can dictate things in this game they may have a shot to win it.
This is a bit of a rivalry you could say so anything can certainly happen.
