West Point-Beemer loses at home to Wayne

The West Point-Beemer Football Team lost 35-19 at home to Wayne Friday night.

The Cadets led 6-0 at the end of the 1st quarter before the Blue Devils outscored them 21-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 21-12 lead into the locker room.

Wayne shutout West Point-Beemer 7-0 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 28-12 at the end of three.

Both teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter.

Tough loss for the Cadets, who were 9th ranked and facing the 2nd ranked team in the Blue Devils.

West Point-Beemer (1-1) takes on Battle Creek (1-1) on the road Friday night.

The Braves lost 24-21 in overtime at Hartington Cedar Catholic last week.

This is one of those games that could be another wild one.

Battle Creek has been in a couple of those so far so we'll see what the Cadets present to them Friday night.

It's a game that West Point-Beemer has to go into fearless and unafraid.

The Cadets have nothing to lose and have to go in there and give the Braves everything they've got.

West Point-Beemer has to be physical at the point of attack and must make plays in the open field.

The Cadets have to wrap up and tackle well and make big plays as well as limit big plays.

Battle Creek is a very good and solid team, but West Point-Beemer is up and coming as well.

The Cadets have to light up the scoreboard and go out there and give it all they got come Friday night.

Win or lose, West Point-Beemer has to put forth their best effort and try and leave town with a win.

The Cadets might be a year away from being what they were prior to last year, but West Point-Beemer certainly appears to be on the right track so far this season.
