Clarkson/Leigh falls to Stanton

The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team lost 42-20 at Stanton Friday night.

The Patriots led 8-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and 8-6 at halftime.

Stanton woke up in the 2nd half, putting up 14 3rd quarter points to build a 20-8 advantage at the end of three, and then outscored Clarkson/Leigh 22-12 in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.

Lance Paprocki had 122 yards rushing on 22 carries, and scored twice.

Cooper Vance made 8 tackles while Kanyon Held, Mitchel Beeson, and Dylan Higby each had 7.

The Patriots had 222 yards of total offense, including 193 on the ground.

The Mustangs racked up 354 yards of total offense, including 316 on the ground.

Clarkson/Leigh struggled on both sides of the ball Friday night. Credit Stanton though, the Mustangs had a game plan and executed it very well.

The Patriots (2-2) host GACC (2-2) Friday night.

The Bluejays won 38-16 at Madison last week.

GACC isn't the type of team they've been in the past so that is welcoming news for Clarkson/Leigh.

The downside is the Patriots have been hit hard by the injury bug.

I think that kind of evens out the playing field a little bit.

I think these two teams are probably fairly equal now that Clarkson/Leigh has some injuries.

The Patriots have to be solid on defense, and Paprocki has to have a huge game for Clarkson/Leigh.

He has to single handily carry the Patriots offensively.

A lot is riding on Paprocki's shoulders, and he has to step up and play a great game once again Friday night.
