The BRLD Football Team won 38-20 at Hartington Cedar Catholic Friday night.
The Wolverines led 14-0 after one and 20-7 at halftime.
BRLD also led 26-14 at the end of three, and doubled up the Trojans 12-6 in the 4th quarter.
Really solid start to the season for the Wolverines. BRLD started the game fast and finished strong.
The Wolverines (1-0) host Ponca (0-1) Friday night.
The Indians lost 42-12 at home to Tekamah-Herman last week.
Just because Ponca lost to the Tigers the way they did doesn't mean they should be overlooked.
BRLD has to come out with the same focus and intensity they had in Week 1 against Cedar Catholic.
A top ranked team like the Wolverines has to come out and respect all opponents and handle their business against everyone they play.
BRLD should be undefeated heading into the Norfolk Catholic game, but the Wolverines have to use this game and next week's game against Crofton as games to iron out any kinks they might have in their armor.
BRLD wants to be in tip top shape for the Knights, and the Wolverines have to clean up any mistakes they made against the Trojans, and strengthen any weak spots they might currently have.
Will Gatzemeyer needs to have a huge game for BRLD Friday night, and Lucas Vogt has to do great things as well.
The Wolverines have to go out there and make plays and be physical.
BRLD has to do what they did against Cedar Catholic, except try to not only duplicate their efforts from this past Friday night, but make them even better.
The Wolverines have to keep getting better and improving with each and every week, and this week is no exception.
BRLD needs to see growth and improvement from last week to this week to be on track to where they want to ultimately be.
The Wolverines have to come out and take a page from Tekamah-Herman's book, and that's dominate from start to finish.
BRLD has to leave no doubt as to who the better team is, and show folks why they are the preseason No. 1 ranked team in C-2.
I don't think we'll really know just how great the Wolverines are until they play the Knights, but BRLD can help their case in beating Norfolk Catholic in Week 4 by picking up big wins this week and next.
The Wolverines have to play championship Football, and put the Indians away early if at all possible.
