Wisner-Pilger defeats Cross County in season opener

The Wisner-Pilger Football Team defeated Cross County 32-24 at home Friday night.

The Gators went up 12-0 after one, and led 20-8 at halftime.

The Cougars won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to make it a 26-16 game at the end of three, and also won the 4th quarter 8-6 to make up the final score.

I thought Wisner-Pilger could have finished the game stronger than they did, but credit the Gators for a fast start and win.

Wisner-Pilger (1-0) battles East Butler (1-0) on the road Friday night.

The Tigers upset GACC 30-20 on the road last week.

The Gators are going to need to play a much better game against East Butler than they did against Cross County to come away with a win, in my opinion.

Wisner-Pilger needs to be sharper and better on both sides of the ball.

It's going to take a complete game for the Gators to come out on top in this one.

It can definitely happen though.

Wisner-Pilger has to go down there and play physical and play good defense.

The Gators have to finish the game better than they did the game against the Cougars.

If Wisner-Pilger can do that and get off to the same kind of start they did against Cross County then that will be to their advantage.

The Gators just have to clean up any sloppy play they may have had last week, and be on top of their game.

I feel like Wisner-Pilger is better than how they played last week, and has to come out and show and prove it Friday night.

The Gators have to come out with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.

Wisner-Pilger has to play lights out football from start to finish, and must take the fight to East Butler.

The Gators have to go down there and go all out, and lay everything out on the line and try and find a way to win.

Wisner-Pilger has to limit big plays, and must be very physical up front.

The Gators have to win the battle at the line of scrimmage, and their skill guys need to make plays as well.

Wisner-Pilger has to be ready to play a complete four quarter game, and must play well for 48 minutes.

The Gators have the talent and experience to win this game so now they need to go out there and get the job done.
