Clarkson/Leigh wins first game of year at Parkview Christian

The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team won 64-20 at Parkview Christian on Friday.

Kyle Kasik had 13 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Drew Beeson made 13 tackles.

Clarkson/Leigh racked up 284 yards of total offense, including 244 on the ground.

Perhaps the Patriots are on to something with Kasik. What a breakout performance and game he had.

Clarkson/Leigh (1-2) plays host to Pender (1-2) Friday night.

The Pendragons lost 36-34 at home to Randolph last week.

Pender is a nice team and has done some nice things as has Clarkson/Leigh.

Both have played solid competition so far, but I feel the Patriots have played tougher competition.

I look for Clarkson/Leigh to win this one, especially since they're at home and everything.

It's much easier to play well coming off a big win as opposed to a tough loss like in the Pendragons' case.

Perhaps the win over Parkview Christian has kind of provided a spark and ignited a fire for Clarkson/Leigh.

The offense certainly broke out for Clarkson/Leigh in that one, and the defense appeared to be pretty solid as well.

It was Clarkson/Leigh's best performance of the year I don't think there's any doubt about that.

The Patriots now have to build off that and turn it into another win Friday night.

I think this District is very much for Clarkson/Leigh's taking.

Mead will be tough down the road, but Emerson-Hubbard, Cedar Bluffs, and Omaha Christian Academy are all really struggling.

A win over Pender would be a huge district win for the Patriots there's no doubt about it.

It's the start of District play, and Clarkson/Leigh ought to feel they have what it takes to win the District this year.

The Patriots need to have a goal of finishing unfinished business when it comes to the District.

Clarkson/Leigh couldn't quite get the job done last year, but now the Patriots have a shot at redemption this year.

The road to redemption starts Friday night at home against Pender.

It's a big game for the Patriots, and a win to get Clarkson/Leigh back to .500 would be huge given all the adversity they've had to deal with with the injury to Tommy McEvoy and everything else that has gone on this season.
