North Bend Central wallops Logan View/Scribner-Snyder
The North Bend Central Football Team won big at home over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Friday night, winning 34-6.
Here is Head Coach Ryan Stieren's recap of the game:
Just like last week, we came out on fire and really put the pressure on them right away. We scored a touchdown on 10 yard pass from Austin Endorf to Austin Taylor, then we recovered an onside kick and not long after that Ethan Mullally scored on a 30 yard rush. After we went up 13-0, it became a bit of a back and forth game until Ian Virka intercepted a pass and ran it in from 25 yards out right before the half putting us up 20-0.
In the 3rd quarter, we fumbled in our own territory, they recovered and scored on 4th down 7 plays later. We answered on our very first offensive play when Austin Endorf hit Breckin Peters on a 73 yard pass bringing it to 27-6. Early in the 4th, Ethan Mullally scored on a 5 yard run to cap an eight play 75 yard drive. That ended the scoring but our last possession of the game we had a 15 play drive that took off almost 8 minutes and ended the game.
Statistically, we threw for 205 yards and rushed for 192 yards. Ethan Mullally led our rushing attack with 152 yards on 16 carries and 2 TDs. Austin Endorf was 21-27 (4 of his 6 incompletions were drops) for 205 yards and 2 TDs. Breckin Peters led our receivers with 8 catches for 122 yards and a TD.
Defensively, Ian Virka led us with 6 tackles and Int for a TD. Cole Johnson also chipped in 7 tackles.
The Tigers racked up 397 yards of total offense.
Pretty balanced offensive attack for North Bend Central it appears.
The Tigers (2-0) take on Stanton (1-1) on the road Friday night.
The Mustangs defeated Tekamah-Herman 22-6 on the road last week.
Stanton figures to provide a tough test for North Bend Central this week.
The Tigers really played well last week though I thought, and if North Bend Central plays like that again they're going to be really tough to beat.
North Bend Central has to be ready to play though because the Mustangs really came to play last week.
The game being in Stanton really helps the Mustangs too I feel.
I think it's all about confidence for the Tigers.
North Bend Central has to be mighty confident in themselves right now. Not overconfident, but confident.
Stanton figures to be confident too though so you know the Mustangs will come ready to play.
The Tigers need the same offensive balance they had last week.
North Bend Central is at their best when they run and pass the ball well.
I think it's also key for the Tigers to limit turnovers.
North Bend Central has to take care of the ball, especially on the road.
The Tigers can't afford to turn it over and give Stanton extra opportunities.
North Bend Central's defense has to play the way it did against the Raiders as well.
The Mustangs have struggled at times offensively this season so I feel there's a chance for the Tigers to do some damage on that side of the ball.
Stanton is tough as nails defensively though so if the two teams get in a defensive slugfest then I think that's to Stanton's advantage.
If North Bend Central is able to put points on the board though then they figure to stand a good chance to win I would say.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out Friday night.
