Emerson-Hubbard routed by Allen

The Emerson-Hubbard Football Team lost 66-8 at home to Allen Friday night.

The Eagles led 20-0 after one and 44-0 at halftime.

Allen blanked the Pirates 8-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 52-0 at the end of three.

The Eagles won the 4th quarter 14-8.

Cameron Ahlers had 53 yards rushing on 10 carries, including a touchdown.

Nolan Belt made 14 tackles while Garrett Blanke had 7.

Emerson-Hubbard racked up 136 yards of total offense, including 113 rushing.

Allen amassed 380 yards of total offense, including 298 on the ground.

Definitely not the type of game the Pirates were hoping for that's for sure.

Credit the Eagles though they really tore it up.

Emerson-Hubbard (0-2) hosts Plainview (2-0) Friday night.

Plainview downed Randolph 50-24 at home two weeks ago.

Plainview will have had two weeks to prepare for this battle of the Pirates when it's all said and done so they will be ready to go for sure.

Emerson-Hubbard simply needs better play on offense and defense.

I'm not sure what has happened to Emerson-Hubbard, but they're not playing at the same level they were last year.

Allen is a proven winning team and Homer has come of nowhere and surprised a lot of people so I think perhaps the Pirates have been taking by surprise in a way so far this year.

No surprises this Friday night though...Plainview is a very solid team.

Emerson-Hubbard's non-district games appear to be their toughest of the season.

District play begins next week, and the Pirates figure to make some hay in that.

Emerson-Hubbard needs to play well this week to get ready for District play though.

Plainview is a solid team, and it's going to be another challenge and battle for Emerson-Hubbard Friday night.

E-H needs to play a great game to come out on top.

I think even if Emerson-Hubbard can just keep things close and be competitive that would be a step in the right direction from the last two weeks.

The first two games of the season have been rough for and unkind to Emerson-Hubbard so hopefully Week 4 is the charm for them.

The Pirates have to keep playing hard and battling and believe that their hard work is going to eventually pay off.

So while the season hasn't gone according to plan for Emerson-Hubbard so far, there's a lot of season left so the Pirates have to keep their heads up and keep battling.

There's a long ways to go, and things can definitely turn around in a hurry and instant for Emerson-Hubbard.

The Pirates have to simply go out there and make it happen.
