Tekamah-Herman falls at home to Stanton
The Tekamah-Herman Football Team fell 22-6 at home to Stanton Friday night.
The Tigers led 6-0 at halftime, but the Mustangs put up 8 points in the 3rd quarter to go up 8-6 after three and notched 14 4th quarter points to make up the final score.
Clay Beaumont was 7-18 passing for 114 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Kody Bitter and Garrison Potadle each made 15 tackles while Connor Feiling had 13 and Cole Bottger 7.
Tekamah-Herman had 211 yards of total offense, including 114 through the air.
Tough loss for the Tigers after such a big win last week. You have to wonder if maybe the press clippings and talk about Tekamah-Herman Football affected them last week. Definitely not the same success running the ball as Week 1.
The Tigers (1-1) take on Twin River (1-1) on the road Friday night.
The Titans lost 41-18 at Battle Creek Friday night.
This figures to be a good, entertaining, and compelling ball game, one that Tekamah-Herman can definitely win.
Last week was a tough loss and unfortunate setback for the Tigers.
The good news is this week is a new week with new hope and expectations.
Tekamah-Herman has to put last week's performance in the rearview mirror and move on.
The Tigers played so well against Ponca in Week 1, and have to get back to playing that way this week.
Tekamah-Herman has to refocus themselves on the task at hand, and get back to playing sound, fundamental football.
I think maybe all the hype surrounding the Ponca win may have gotten the best of the Tigers last week.
The Stanton loss is in the past and out of their system now though hopefully so it's simply time to regroup and move on.
These next two games for Tekamah-Herman can definitely be wins, and the Tigers can be 3-1 heading into the Oakland-Craig game.
Tekamah-Herman really has to get after it this week though, and get back to playing the type of football they played in Week 1.
The Tigers were magnificent in their opener, but really struggled last week.
It was the tale of two teams for Tekamah-Herman, and hopefully the team from Week 1 shows up again this week.
The Tigers have to be successful in running the triple option this week, and must block well up front and run the ball well.
Tekamah-Herman has to play physical, smashmouth football and take it to the Titans for four quarters.
If the Tigers do that then they figure to stand a good chance to win as long as they can take care of the ball and force turnovers as well.
