GACC drops season opener to East Butler
The GACC Football Team fell 30-20 at home to East Butler Friday night.
The game was tied at 8 at the end of one before the Tigers went up 16-8 at halftime.
The Bluejays shutout East Butler 6-0 in the 3rd quarter to make it a 16-14 game at the end of three before the Tigers outscored the Bluejays 14-6 in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.
GACC gave up 188 yards of total offense, including 103 through the air.
Tough and surprising loss for the Bluejays I would say.
GACC (0-1) plays host to Howells-Dodge (1-0) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Jaguars won 42-14 at home over Clarkson/Leigh in the Bacon Bowl Friday night.
I don't want to call this a must win for the Bluejays, but it feels like that in a lot of ways.
I just can't envision and imagine GACC starting a season 0-2.
The Bluejays must come out and play with a sense of urgency and purpose Friday night.
GACC has to have the same type of effort they had against Howells-Dodge in the playoffs last year.
The Bluejays have to put last week behind them, and come out fresh and ready to go Friday night.
It's a new game and week, and GACC has to come out amped up and ready to go.
The Bluejays have to play with tons of fire, heart, passion, tenacity, toughness, pride, and grit.
GACC has to throw the kitchen sink at the Jaguars and give Howells-Dodge their best shot.
The Bluejays have to play with a sense of desperation so to speak.
GACC has to put their heart and soul into this game, and leave everything out on the field.
There should be nothing left in the Bluejays' tank after this one Friday night.
You can bet the Jaguars are licking their chops right now as they have GACC right where they want them.
The Bluejays have to rise up and play well with their backs against the wall.
The odds may be stacked against GACC and may not be in their favor, but the Bluejays have to rise up to the challenge and play well.
GACC has to play like they've never played before, and be ready to tame a very hungry and anxious Jaguar squad.
This would be the win of all wins if the Bluejays could pick it up.
Right now one would have to give the advantage to Howells-Dodge based on what happened last week, but things can change in a hurry, and a win this week could change the Bluejays' season and get things back on track.
It could change the whole landscape and outlook of their season as could a loss.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with pregame at 6:30 on the Bull.
