Oakland-Craig blasts Syracuse
The Oakland-Craig Football Team routed Syracuse 68-0 on the road Friday night.
Jaron Meyer had 7 rushing attempts for 137 yards and scored a touchdown. Coulter Thiele rushed for 94 yards on 5 carries, and scored three times. Connor Guill had 3 carries for 53 yards while Tavis Uhing had 6 carries for 51 yards.
Colton Thomsen was 6-9 passing for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
The Knights had 574 yards of total offense, including 424 on the ground.
Great performance by Oakland-Craig. The Knights were very dominant on both sides of the ball, a sign of a championship Football team.
Oakland-Craig (4-0) takes on Tekamah-Herman (2-2) on the road Friday night.
The Tigers won 45-8 at Conestoga last week.
Tekamah-Herman is an improved team from years past I would say.
The Tigers are getting better and better every year under Head Coach Graig McElmuray, and have done some nice things this season.
I think this game has a chance to be closer than it has been in years past.
I think Tekamah-Herman could hang around and give the Knights a little trouble.
I still fully expect Oakland-Craig to win, but the Tigers are an improved football team.
The Knights have to bring the same type of energy and effort they have all season long.
I don't know if Oakland-Craig can be stopped or slowed down at the rate they're going on right now.
The Knights have overachieved and played magnificent football so far this season.
Oakland-Craig is playing like men possessed, and the Knights have simply kicked the snot out of everyone they've played.
This is a rivalry game though, and I expect Tekamah-Herman to fight and play really hard too.
Rivalry games aren't your typical games, they have extra and special meaning.
Oakland-Craig has to get pumped up for this game like they have every other game this season.
The Knights have done an excellent job of playing together and playing good team football.
Oakland-Craig doesn't have that one dominant player or one player who blows you away, but they have a bunch of guys who simply get the job done.
The Knights have a lot of blue collar type players who bring the lunch pail to work every day.
Oakland-Craig has to watch out for Luke Wakehouse and Clay Beaumont.
Those two really make the Tigers' offense go and gel.
The Knights have to focus on slowing those two down. I would say that is the key to the game.
And if Oakland-Craig can do that then they should be in good shape.
