Bancroft-Rosalie falls at Randolph

The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers lost for the second time this season Friday night, falling 48-14 at Randolph.

The Cardinals got up 18-0 at the end of one and scored 6 second quarter points while holding Bancroft-Rosalie scoreless to lead 24-0 at halftime.

Randolph won the third quarter 16-6 to lead 40-6 at the end of three.

Both teams scored 8 fourth quarter points.

Jacob Zuhlke led the Panthers in rushing as he had 81 yards on 33 carries, including one touchdown. Trent Gatewood ran for 52 yards on 15 attempts, and scored the other Bancroft-Rosalie touchdown.

Gatewood was 4-8 passing for 51 yards with an interception.

The Panthers turned the ball over four times.

Zuhlke made a team-high 13 tackles. Austin Bruning and Jacob Cole racked up 8 apiece.

Bancroft-Rosalie had 183 yards of total offense, including 132 on the ground.

The Panthers simply turned the ball over too much and dug themselves too deep a hole to beat the Cardinals. Bancroft-Rosalie played a better second half than first half, but by the time the Panthers put points on the board they were down too much to mount a comeback.

Bancroft-Rosalie (0-2) is at Osmond (2-0) on Friday.

The Tigers defeated Lyons-Decatur Northeast 70-44 on Friday and appear to be the real deal.

The Panthers have to start the game off better than they did against Randolph if they want to win.

Bancroft-Rosalie also has to do a better job of taking care of the ball, and their defense has to step things up to keep the game close.

The Panthers have to step things up on both sides of the ball, that's all there is to it.

Bancroft-Rosalie has struggled on both sides of the ball in both of their games so far this season, and something has to change if the Panthers are to turn their season around.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish, and Bancroft-Rosalie definitely has the potential to turn things around, but the Panthers need to start making bigger strides this week.

This season is already starting to sort of slip away from Bancroft-Rosalie, and if they don't correct their mistakes and play better it could be a season the Panthers would just assume forget.

Bancroft-Rosalie is definitely capable of playing better, they just have to step things up in all facets of the game.

It would be easy for the Panthers to get down on themselves, but they can't do that. Bancroft-Rosalie has to remain positive, and not have a negative outlook on things.

It's important for each player to improve this week. The Panthers have to keep getting better if they want to win this season. I think there was improvement from Week 1 to Week 2, but it wasn't significant enough to beat Randolph. Bancroft-Rosalie has to make significant improvements this week.
