West Point-Beemer loses at Boone Central/Newman Grove

The West Point-Beemer Cadets had a rough go of things Friday night as they fell 56-0 at Boone Central/Newman Grove.

The Cardinals led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, and notched 22 second quarter points to go up 36-0 at halftime.

Boone Central/Newman Grove scored 13 third quarter points to lead 49-0 at the end of three. The Cardinals added 7 fourth quarter points to make up the final score.

Tate Toelle was 6-13 passing for 63 yards with an interception.

Dylan James led the way on the ground with 51 yards on 13 carries.

West Point-Beemer amassed 144 yards of offense, including 81 on the ground.

The defense surrendered 504 yards of offense, including 329 on the ground.

It was a tough game for the Cadets. Boone Central/Newman Grove is a good team, and proved it Friday night.

West Point-Beemer (1-4) looks for better success on Thursday at Norfolk Catholic (5-0).

The Knights are coming off a 50-0 win at Madison Friday night.

Norfolk Catholic is a very good team like usual, and the Cadets will have their hands full, there's no doubt about it.

West Point-Beemer may feel like this is too tall of a task to handle, but the Cadets can't think that way.

West Point-Beemer has to believe they can compete with and beat the Knights.

It's going to be extremely difficult for the Cadets to get the job done, especially with the game being in Norfolk, but West Point-Beemer has to believe they can get the job done and expect to win.

The Cadets have to do everything in their power to play better than they did against Boone Central/Newman Grove.

West Point-Beemer has to be physical at the line of scrimmage, and open up running and passing lanes for the offense.

The Cadets also have to tackle well.

West Point-Beemer has to avoid giving up big plays. If the Cadets can force Norfolk Catholic to drive the length of the field, they may be able to keep things close.

Easier said than done though. The Knights are a really good team.

West Point-Beemer has to play the game of their lives to come out on top.
