Logan View edges Palmyra for Week 0 win
Logan View pulled out a close, tight Week 0 win as the Raiders defeated Palmyra 20-19 on the road Friday night.
Logan View led 2-0 at the end of the first quarter only to give up 13 second quarter points to find themselves down 13-2 at halftime.
The Raiders stepped up their game in the second half, and drew closer in the third quarter, putting up 6 points while holding the Panthers scoreless to make it a 13-8 game at the end of three.
Logan View doubled up Palmyra 12-6 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
This was a very nice win for the Raiders. I sort of expected Logan View to get the job done with the guys they brought back, but to actually come through in the clutch, and make plays when it matters most says a lot about this team.
The Raiders are definitely on the right track, they just have to play the way they did in the second half for an entire game. Logan View played a great game if you take away the second quarter.
The Raiders (1-0) host Stanton (0-1) Friday night.
The Mustangs lost 19-6 at Battle Creek in their opener, but are still a very good team.
Logan View is going to have their hands full with Stanton.
The Raiders have to play the type of defense they did in the first, third, and fourth quarters against the Panthers.
Logan View can't afford to have a bad quarter like they did against Palmyra otherwise it could prove to be costly.
The Raiders have to get jacked and fired up for this game. Logan View has a big time opponent coming in, and has the chance to knock them off.
As well as the Raiders played in the first game of the season, they're going to have to play even better to beat the Mustangs.
Logan View has to be very physical at the line of scrimmage, and must be able to run the ball as well as stop the run.
The game could very well come down to who wins the battle at the line of scrimmage.
You have to figure Stanton is a pretty tough team up front so the Raiders will have to match their physicality to come out on top.
Logan View has to stay fresh and can't tire out. It's important for the Raiders to get off the field on defense when they have the chance.
Logan View has a big time opportunity here. It will be interesting to see if the Raiders can get the job done.
