Clarkson-Leigh defeats Wakefield

The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots are off to a good start as they won 60-36 at Wakefield Friday night.

Clarkson/Leigh doubled up the Trojans 16-8 in the first quarter. The Patriots outscored Wakefield 22-8 in the third quarter to lead 38-16 at halftime.

Clarkson/Leigh won the third quarter 14-6 to go up 52-22 at the end of three.

The Trojans put up 14 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for the Patriots.

Bradley Brunner toted the rock 29 times for 235 yards and 4 TD's for Clarkson/Leigh. Senior quarterback Kobe Paprocki added 98 yards on 17 carries, including one score. Jacob Gall carried the ball 9 times for 56 yards, and scored once.

Paprocki was 3-6 passing for 44 yards with a touchdown.

The Trojans rolled up 475 yards of total offense, including 431 on the ground.

Clarkson/Leigh played very impressive football Friday night. The Patriots were ready to go from the get go, and left no doubt as to who the better team was.

Clarkson/Leigh (1-0) is at Omaha Nation (1-0) this coming Friday night.

The Chiefs beat Omaha Christian Academy 60-58 on the road this past Friday night.

The Patriots have to be ready to play, but as long as they are I look for Clarkson/Leigh to win impressively.

I suspect Brunner will have another big game running the ball, and the Patriots' running game will excel just like it did in the season opener.

This team was so impressive running the ball in Week 1, and I don't see Omaha Nation slowing down Brunner or anyone else for that matter.

The Chiefs are suspect defensively, and it wouldn't surprise me if Clarkson/Leigh hangs 80+ on them.

Omaha Nation may score their points, but I don't think they'll be able to muster nearly enough offense to beat the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh has already shown us what type of team they are, and if Week 1's score is any indication of things to come, the Patriots are in good shape for another big win Friday night.

I wouldn't be surprised if the running clock rule is enforced in this game. I think Clarkson/Leigh is for real, and I expect the Patriots to dominate come Friday night.

Clarkson/Leigh shouldn't change much from what they did last week. The game plan has to be similar. Do what you do best, which is run the ball down people's throats until they can stop it.

Barring any unforeseen injuries or misfortunes, I look for the Patriots to run wild on the Chiefs.
