Winnebago wins at Cedar Bluffs in shootout

The Winnebago Indians won in a shootout at Cedar Bluffs Friday night, winning 56-54.

What a win it was for Winnebago, who played with a lot of resiliency and resolve to pull out the win.

Every play was critical, and the Indians made one more play than the Wildcats to win the game.

This was a big win for Winnebago. The Indians certainly learned how to win Friday night. Now Winnebago can carry this win into future games, and hopefully win more games.

The Indians (1-0) host Wakefield (0-1) on Friday.

The Trojans lost 60-36 at home to Clarkson/Leigh in their opener.

Wakefield was susceptible to giving up yards on the ground as the Trojans gave up 431 yards on the ground, including 235 to Bradley Brunner.

Winnebago has to look to exploit Wakefield's run defense. The Indians have to run the ball behind their big linemen, and look to gain big yardage.

Winnebago has to be better defensively, but the Indians are definitely on the right track offensively.

I wouldn't be surprised if this game was a high scoring affair. The Indians certainly gained confidence from winning one shootout, so there's no reason to think they can't win another.

I like Winnebago's chances of picking up a win. The Indians are playing at home, and should be pretty fired, psyched, and jacked up for this game.

Winnebago has to play with pride, passion, heart, resolve, physical and mental toughness, tenacity, and grit.

The Indians have to give it their all on every play, and let their play take care of the rest.

If Winnebago works their tails off throughout the game, they should put themselves in a good position to win.

The Indians have a real chance to keep the ball rolling on Friday. Momentum and confidence is definitely on Winnebago's side right now so there's no reason to think they'll slow down now.
