Scribner-Snyder loses to Cedar Bluffs
The Scribner-Snyder Trojans suffered another setback last Friday night, losing 40-22 at home to Cedar Bluffs.
Scribner-Snyder got out to a 16-8 lead at the end of one. The Wildcats won the second quarter 16-6 to go up 24-22 at halftime.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. Cedar Bluffs outscored the Trojans 16-0 in the fourth quarter.
Michael Broussard had 104 yards rushing on 22 carries, and scored twice.
Broussard was 9-14 through the air for 103 yards, and had one interception. Darnell Sims caught 7 passes for 56 yards.
Broussard made 11 tackles. Kaleb Fischer totaled 9 while Riley Meyer had 8.
Scribner-Snyder rolled up 280 yards of offense, including 177 on the ground.
The Trojans simply came up short last Friday night. Scribner-Snyder had their chances, but was unable to get the job done in the second half.
The Trojans (1-2) host Omaha Nation (1-2) on Friday.
The Chiefs lost 36-26 at home to Allen this past Friday night.
Omaha Nation is a decent team, but I don't know if they're good enough to beat Scribner-Snyder.
I don't think there's any doubt the Trojans will be fired up and hungry for a win given what's happened to them in their last two games.
I look for Broussard to have a big game and do a lot on the ground and through the air for Scribner-Snyder.
The Trojans could really use a win given who they play the next three weeks after this.
Scribner-Snyder has Guardian Angels Central Catholic, East Butler, and Pender on the horizon.
The Trojans beat Omaha Christian Academy 80-42 while Omaha Nation beat them 60-58 if that tells you anything about how Friday's game could go.
Scribner-Snyder has to be balanced offensively, and must play a good game to come away with the win.
It will be interesting to see what happens on Friday. This could be a big game in terms of the Trojans' chances of making the playoffs. A 3-5 record could be good enough to get into the postseason.
Both teams really need a win, but Scribner-Snyder doesn't want to lose to the Chiefs at home. The Trojans have already had a couple of what could be considered bad losses, and they certainly don't want another.
Scribner-Snyder has to do everything in their power to win on Friday.
