Oakland-Craig blows out Tekamah-Herman

The Oakland-Craig Knights won big at Tekamah-Herman Friday night, winning by the final score of 61-12.

Oakland-Craig scored twice in the first 1:02 of the game.

The Knights led 41-0 at the end of the first quarter and 53-6 at halftime.

Tekamah-Herman scored 6 third quarter points to make it a 53-12 game at the end of three.

Oakland-Craig scored their final points of the game in the fourth quarter.

Robby Mayberry had 109 yards rushing on 9 carries, including one score. Hos Smith totaled 100 yards on 8 carries, and scored twice. Ben Smith toted the rock 7 times for 83 yards, and scored once.

Cole Mitchell was 5-5 passing for 136 yards and three touchdowns.

Garrett Seagren caught 1 ball for 57 yards, which resulted in a touchdown, and Cody Mace had 3 catches for 54 yards, including two touchdowns.

Ben Smith made a team-high 14 tackles.

The Knights totaled 495 yards of offense, including 359 on the ground.

Oakland-Craig did a great job taking care of business against the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman was decimated by injury, but the Knights didn't feel sorry for them. Oakland-Craig went out there and dominated.

The Knights (2-1) have a tough road test at Crofton (3-0) Friday night.

The Warriors are coming off a 48-8 win at home over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge this past Friday night, and have gotten off to a very good start.

Crofton is tough, although this is going to be their first real test.

I look for Oakland-Craig to go up there and come away with a win. As good as the Warriors are, I think the Knights are even better.

I think Oakland-Craig will win by a touchdown or two.

Mayberry, Hos Smith, and Ben Smith all have to have good games running the ball for the Knights, and Mitchell has to be effective in the passing game.

It's important for Oakland-Craig to start fast, and play a complete game.

This isn't going to be an easy game for the Knights. Oakland-Craig has to come ready to play, and bring it for four quarters.

Crofton isn't going to lay down and just let the Knights win. Oakland-Craig is going to have to take it from the Warriors.

Friday night's game should be close. As I said above I think the Knights will find a way to win, but it won't be easy. Oakland-Craig is going to have to play well to come away with the win.

The Knights need to play well to gain momentum for the Ponca game next week.
