BRLD uses big second half to beat Tekamah-Herman

Up 21-20 at halftime, BRLD outscored Tekamah-Herman 44-0 in the 2nd half to win 65-20 at home over the Tigers.

Will Gatzemeyer had 188 yards rushing on 16 carries, and scored twice, while throwing for 164 yards and 4 touchdowns on 7-15 passing. Kobe Lyons added 114 yards on the ground on 17 carries, and scored twice. Dylan Beutler hauled in two touchdown passes totaling 82 yards.

Gus Gomez made 7 tackles for the Wolverines.

BRLD had 484 yards of total offense, including 320 on the ground.

The defense gave up 335 yards of total offense, including 255 rushing.

Great second half performance by the Wolverines. I understand it was the Will Gatzemeyer show.

BRLD (6-0) travels to Springfield to take on Louisville (1-5) at Platteview High School Friday night.

Louisville lost 54-0 at Oakland-Craig last week.

Another game that is a good measuring stick for the Wolverines when it comes to Oakland-Craig.

That game is going to be gigantic, but the Wolverines have Fremont Bergan next week and Louisville this week before they can worry about O-C.

BRLD has to go in and dominate the Lions from start to finish Friday night.

The Wolverines have to play a complete four quarter dominant game Friday night, and must control all facets of the game.

BRLD has to come out and score early and often, and not allow the Lions to be in the game at all.

The Wolverines have to leave no doubt and win big Friday night.

BRLD has to go out there and have a great and fantastic showing, and turn in an outstanding performance.

The Wolverines need big performances from Gatzemeyer, Lyons, Beutler, and others.

I was very impressed with BRLD's second half defense against Tekamah-Herman, holding the Tigers scoreless.

That's the kind of defense the Wolverines need to keep playing to be successful.

I look for BRLD to curb stomp Louisville Friday night, and win big.

I think the Wolverines will be dominant in all facets of the game, and come out and do and perform well.

I look for Gatzemeyer to have another huge game and turn in another outstanding performance.

BRLD has to be physical at the line of scrimmage and run the ball well.

The Wolverines also need to throw the ball effectively as well, and be well balanced.

I feel Oakland-Craig may be more balanced and better on defense up to this point, but BRLD could very well be more dynamic and explosive offensively.

This game against Louisville will be another gauger and test to see how those two teams stack and match up.
