Winnebago loses final home game to Wakefield

The Winnebago Football Team lost 86-22 at home to Wakefield Friday night.

Tough way to go out for the seniors in their final ever home game.

The Indians (1-6) conclude their season at GACC (3-4) Friday night.

The Bluejays shutout Homer 46-0 at home last week.

The Knights downed Winnebago 82-22, but that was when Homer was a different team.

This is it for the Indians....this is the season for Winnebago.

This is essentially the Indians' playoff game.

And this game is special too.

Reason being GACC needs a win to qualify for the playoffs.

A Bago win eliminates the Bluejays from playoff contention in all likelihood.

So the Indians' philosophy has to be if we're going home after this game then so are you.

Winnebago has to get extra jacked and motivated for this game, and try and do their best to knock GACC out of the playoffs.

Tall task being the game is in Beemer and the Bluejays are arguably playing their best football of the season right now, but anything can certainly happen.

The Indians have to go out there and play loose and relaxed.

Winnebago has to try and force turnovers, and get GACC into some uncomfortable positions offensively.

If the Indians can create some 3rd and longs for the Bluejay offense and create some short fields for their own offense then who knows what will happen.

This isn't the type of game that jumps out at you and says big GACC win like in the past.

This is not the same Bluejay team we're accustomed to seeing.

It could be argued Winnebago is down this year too though so we will see what happens.

The Indians just have to go out there and fight hard and make big plays and hope it's enough to spring and pull off the upset.

A win would be very sweet for Winnebago I'm sure knowing it would likely knock GACC out of the playoffs.
