Winnebago picks up first win of year over Omaha Nation

The Winnebago Football Team walloped Omaha Nation 57-14 on the road Friday night.

Good for the Indians to get the monkey off their back.

Winnebago (1-5) faces Wakefield (5-1) at home Friday night.

The Trojans won 50-36 at home over GACC last week.

Wakefield is a very good team, and this is going to be an extremely hard and difficult game for the Indians.

Neither team is eligible for the postseason so this is like a playoff game for both teams.

It's also the last time these 7 seniors will ever play a game on their home field.

The Indians have to come out and play with lots of pride and passion Friday night.

Winnebago has to leave it all out on the field, and do everything in their power to win for their brothers.

The Indians have to play with a lot of pride, heart, toughness, grit, tenacity, fire, and passion.

Winnebago has to go out there and play the most physical football game they've ever played and smack the Trojans in the mouth.

The Indians have to be physical up front and try and stop the run.

Winnebago has to put their guts into this one and try and gain glory by pulling the upset.

This is the last game of the year on Winnebago's home field, win or lose.

The seniors have to do some major reflecting between now and Friday, and come out and play inspired Football.

The seniors have to think about the last four years and all the practices and bus trips and games and growing up playing Pee Wee or Pop Warner Football.

All of that is about to come full circle Friday night.

The Indians have to go out there and try and be perfect.

And I'll quote Billy Bob Thornton from Friday Night Lights on this. "Being perfect is not about that scoreboard out there. It's not about winning. It's about you and your relationship to yourself and your family and your friends. Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn't let them down. And that truth is that you did everything that you could, there wasn't one more thing you could of done."

That's almost the exact quote from the movie so go out there and get em Winnebago!!!!!
