Pender blown out by Clarkson/Leigh

The Pender Football Team lost 60-6 at Clarkson/Leigh Friday night.

The Patriots led 14-0 after one and 30-6 at halftime.

Clarkson/Leigh shutout the Pendragons 24-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 54-6 at the end of three.

The Patriots added 6 4th quarter points to make up the final score.

Caleb Trimble was 7-15 passing for 69 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Larry McManigal made 11 tackles while Dylan Vogt had 8.

Pender had just 103 yards of total offense, including 86 passing.

The Pendragons gave up 442 yards of total offense, including 373 on the ground.

Very, very tough loss for Pender. I don't know if anyone saw this coming.

The Pendragons (1-3) host Cedar Bluffs (0-4) Friday night.

The Wildcats lost 55-40 at home to Emerson-Hubbard last week.

Pender desperately needs a win to improve their playoff chances.

The Pendragons are definitely more than capable of winning out and making the playoffs, but Pender has to start over.

The Pendragons have to say okay last week was last week let's put it behind us and move on.

It's never easy getting beat that way, but Pender has to forget about it and move on the best they can.

It's a new week and another chance for the Pendragons to shine.

Pender can definitely win this one too, it's honestly a game Pender desperately needs.

The Pendragons really need this one to have any shot at the playoffs I would say as I don't know if Pender can win the District.

Pender has to come out and play their hardest and best Friday night.

The Pendragons have to run the ball better than they did against the Patriots and must be better than they were against the run.

Hopefully last week's game wasn't a sign of things to come for Pender.

It was simply a rough game, and the Pendragons can't dwell on it.

Pender has to focus on the present, forget about the past, and move into the future.

The Pendragons have to play a much better game this week than last week if they are to beat Cedar Bluffs though.

I know Clarkson/Leigh has figured some things out, but the fact remains the Patriots are without their star running back this season in Tommy McEvoy.

Now, Clarkson/Leigh could very well go on and win the District, but I think Pender would tell you and I would agree that the Pendragons are a much better football team than what they showed last week.

I look for Pender to prove that this week, and come out and play well against a feisty and scrappy Cedar Bluffs team.

This one could be a wild, high scoring affair so the Pendragons' offense has to get extra ready for this one.
