Wisner-Pilger downs GACC
The Wisner-Pilger Football Team won 34-14 at home over GACC Friday night.
The Gators led 14-0 after one and 28-8 at halftime.
The Bluejays cut the deficit to 28-14 at the end of three, but Wisner-Pilger tacked on another 6 points in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.
The defense gave up 265 yards of total offense, including 176 yards rushing.
Tremendous and great win for the Gators.
Wisner-Pilger (4-0) travels to Winnebago (0-4) Friday night to take on the Indians.
Winnebago fell 82-22 at Homer last week.
The Indians have really struggled defensively, and I look for the Gators' offense to run wild on Winnebago.
Wisner-Pilger is to the point where they have to be thinking District Title, and the Gators need to use this game to get ready for Homer next week.
The schedule sets up perfect for Wisner-Pilger in that the Gators have Winnebago and Omaha Nation on the road and Homer and Wakefield at home.
Wisner-Pilger has a golden opportunity in front of them, a chance to finish the regular season unbeaten and win a District Championship.
The Gators did well the first half of the season now we'll see what Wisner-Pilger can do in the home stretch.
I feel the Homer and Wakefield games are going to be the two toughest of the season for the Gators.
Wisner-Pilger definitely has their work cut out for them in both of those games.
The Gators have to worry about getting past the Indians right now though.
Wisner-Pilger can't afford to look past or overlook Winnebago.
The Gators have to come out ready to play a complete four quarter game against the Indians.
Wisner-Pilger has to get up on Winnebago early and force the Indians to play catch up from behind.
The Gators have to play with the lead the whole game if possible, and do some really nice things before the Knights come calling next week.
Wisner-Pilger needs to turn in a dominating performance from start to finish.
The Gators have to build an early lead and keep piling on scores and touchdowns.
You can never have a big enough lead or enough points on the board given Winnebago's offensive ability.
The Indians haven't been great on offense this year, but so far they have been fairly decent I would say.
