Tekamah-Herman loses at BRLD
The Tekamah-Herman Football Team lost 65-20 at BRLD Friday night.
The Tigers trailed just 21-20 at halftime, but were outscored 44-0 in the 2nd half.
Clay Beaumont rushed for 162 yards on 14 carries while Luke Wakehouse had 81 yards on 22 carries, including two touchdowns. Beaumont was 3-14 passing for 80 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Chauncey Rogers hauled in all of those passes.
Kody Bitter and Garrison Potadle each had 11 tackles while Rogers made 7.
Tekamah-Herman had 335 yards of total offense, including 255 rushing.
The defense surrendered 484 yards of total offense, 320 coming on the ground.
Things simply got away from the Tigers in the 2nd half.
Tekamah-Herman (2-4) hosts Yutan (3-3) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Chieftains lost 20-7 at Fremont Bergan last week and have dropped three in a row.
The Tigers dominated Yutan 24-8 on the road last year, and there's no reason to think Tekamah-Herman can't do it again this year.
The Tigers hung right with the Wolverines for a half, and if Tekamah-Herman can play like that for a whole game against the Chieftains then they could very well be in business.
The Tigers will and should be confident that they can beat Yutan again, that I truly believe.
I think the Chieftains are better this year than they were last year, but I feel Tekamah-Herman is improved as well.
This should be a good, physical, hard hitting, grind it out type football game Friday night.
I think the Tigers can definitely win, but will they?
That's tough to say, but I think they will if they play the way they did in the first half against BRLD.
If Tekamah-Herman plays the way they did in the second half against the Wolverines though then I don't see them winning this one.
It should be an interesting game for sure, and the Tigers have to come out full of energy, and must be jacked, psyched, and fired up for this game.
Tekamah-Herman has to be excited for the opportunity to play and must be chomping at the bit to beat Yutan once again this season.
The Tigers did it last year so I don't see why they can't do it again.
I think the run game will be huge in this one.
If Tekamah-Herman has success running the ball on the Chieftains like they did the Wolverines then this one could really turn out in their favor.
If Yutan stops the run and forces turnovers though then it could be another long and disappointing night for the Tigers.
I feel this game will go one of two days....either Tekamah-Herman will repeat last year's efforts and play the way they did in the first half of BRLD, or the Tigers will come out flat and just not have it.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with pregame at 6:30 on the Bull.
