GACC loses at Wisner-Pilger
The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Football Team lost 34-14 at Wisner-Pilger Friday night.
The Gators led 14-0 after one and 28-8 at halftime.
The Bluejays cut the deficit to 28-14 at the end of three, but Wisner-Pilger tacked on another 6 points in the 4th quarter to make up the final score.
Cody Steffen was 3-10 passing for 89 yards with an interception. Noah Hass had 77 yards rushing on 13 carries, and scored once.
Blake Pojar made 20 tackles while Steffen and Cash Meier had 8 apiece.
GACC had 265 yards of total offense, including 176 on the ground.
It just simply wasn't the Bluejays' night Friday night and didn't happen for GACC.
The Bluejays (1-3) host Omaha Nation (0-4) Friday night.
The Chiefs lost 68-6 at home to Wakefield last time out.
As much as GACC has struggled this year, this one should be an easy win for the Bluejays.
GACC is far more superior than Omaha Nation.
The Bluejays need to use this game to do a lot of good things though and springboard their season.
GACC has Wakefield and Homer on the road in back-to-back weeks after this so the Bluejays need to play well.
I have been surprised by GACC's struggles this year.
I thought the Bluejays might do better against the Gators, but GACC just didn't have it this time.
I don't really know what you attribute the Bluejays' struggles to as they're not used to struggling like this.
It has definitely been a different, difficult, and trying season so far for GACC.
But if the Bluejays can win out they could potentially earn at least a share of the District Title.
GACC has to be thinking win out from here on out.
The Bluejays have gone through their fair share of struggles this year, but I look for GACC to have a lot of success and do a lot of nice things Friday night.
This is one of those games where the Bluejays should build a big enough lead to get a lot if not all of the backups in.
It should be a great night of football for GACC, and a feel good win for the Bluejays.
I'm sure GACC wishes they could have a few redo's, but unfortunately you don't get those in Football.
The Bluejays just have to play up to their potential the rest of the season, and figure out a way to right the ship.
GACC's struggles are one of the biggest stories in the area and state as far as I'm concerned.
I don't think anyone saw this coming.
Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. in Beemer.
