GACC rallies to beat Wisner-Pilger

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Football Team rallied from a 20-14 deficit to knock off Wisner-Pilger 30-20 at home Friday night.

The Bluejays led 14-0 after one before the Gators shutout GACC 20-0 in the 2nd quarter to lead 20-14 at halftime.

That remained the score after 3 before GACC put up 16 points in the 4th quarter to earn the win.

Jared Minnick had 247 yards rushing on 34 carries and scored 3 touchdowns.

Jadyn Smeal made 15 tackles while Casey Doernemann totaled 13. Mitchell Peatrowsky notched 12 while Minnick, Blake Pojar, and Noah Hass had 8 apiece. Cody Steffen and Damon Crawford racked up 7 each.

GACC racked up 344 yards of offense, including 307 on the ground.

Close call for the Bluejays, but GACC rallied when they needed to.

The Bluejays (4-0) travel to Macy to take on Omaha Nation (0-4) on Friday.

The Chiefs lost 74-14 at Wakefield this past Friday night.

GACC ought to have their way in this one.

I feel the only real big regular season test left for the Bluejays is against Wakefield.

Otherwise GACC should roll in their remaining regular season games.

The Bluejays need to be sharp and efficient on Friday though.

GACC can't be sloppy and off their game against Omaha Nation.

The Bluejays have to play a complete game and get ready for the game against the Trojans next week.

This is a game where GACC should dominate and roll, and take it to the Chiefs for 4 quarters.

I look for Minnick to have another big game, and for the Bluejays to pull starters early.

GACC should be able to cruise to an easy win without much trouble..

The Bluejays have to show up ready to play the game the right way, but as long as GACC does that they should be fine.

The Bluejays have to continue to create holes in the running game for Minnick, and Steffen and Smeal have to be effective for GACC as well.

I don't see Omaha Nation taking Steffen and Smeal away like Wisner-Pilger did.

I look for all 3 of them to have really big games offensively.

I thought the Bluejays' effort was really good defensively against the Gators seeing how many tackles different players racked up.

GACC needs to continue to get that maximum effort the rest of the season to be successful.

This game against the Chiefs is a good game to clean up any mistakes they made against the Gators.

GACC will need to be on top of their game against Wakefield next week so I think it's imperative for the Bluejays to work out any kinks in the armor this week.
