North Bend Central pastes Twin River
The North Bend Central Football Team routed Twin River at home Friday night, winning 43-6.
The Tigers finished with 526 total yards of offense and Twin River had 215 yards of total offense. North Bend Central rushed for 207 yards and threw for 319 yards. Austin Endorf was 17-24 passing for 319 yards with 4 TDs and 2 int's. He broke the school record for TD's in a season and now has 18 TD's this season. Ethan Mullally rushed 16 times for 100 yards. Sam Buckingham caught 5 passes for 86 yards and 2 TD's while John Emanuel caught 2 passes for 81 yards, and Cody Pospisil 3 for 58 yards and a TD. North Bend Central forced 5 turnovers (4 fumble recoveries and 1 int) on defense. Ethan Mullally had 8 tackles, a Sack, and 2 fumble recoveries. Ben Rolenc had 7 tackles and 4 sacks. Emanuel added 7 tackles. The Tigers were penalized 15 times for 145 yards (way too much), according to Head Coach Ryan Stieren.
Stieren says his team was kind of sloppy despite the big win. "Another night where we came out on top but we made a lot of mistakes. Way too many penalties and our two turnovers were definitely avoidable. Our defense was a whole lot better than we were a week ago and our offense created more big plays. We must take care of the football and play well defensively moving forward to continue to have success."
It's a battle of unbeatens in North Bend Friday night as the Tigers (5-0) host defending Class C-2 State Runner-up Centennial (5-0).
The Broncos won 28-21 at home over David City Aquinas this past Friday night.
Centennial is the real deal, and this ought to be a great game.
The town of North Bend ought to be buzzing all day before the game and perhaps afterwards too.
This game is a huge deal to this school and community, and a win would be absolutely awesome.
The Tigers have to clean up their mistakes from last week to be able to win though, in my opinion.
North Bend Central is going to need to play mistake and error free football to come out on top.
The Tigers have to do what they did last week from an offensive and defensive standpoint, just clean up the penalties and turnovers.
The Tigers also need to force a lot of turnovers like they did last week. Make the Broncos play uncharacteristic football and feel the pressure.
A lot is at stake in this game, and North Bend Central has to be the team that is smart and keeps a cool head at all times.
This is the biggest game of the season for the Tigers so far without a doubt.
North Bend Central is going to need to play its best game of the year to come out on top, in my opinion.
The Tigers need to be ready to hit and bring the lumber and lunch pail.
North Bend Central has to be ready to rock & roll and rumble Friday night.
There has to be so much anticipation and build up for this game, and I'm sure it's the biggest game that has been played in North Bend in quite some time.
The Tigers have to come out and show how great they are.
I think North Bend Central is a very good team right now....a win over Centennial puts them in elite and great company, in my opinion.
You're talking about a team that beat Aquinas, and if you beat them then that's really saying something.
It can definitely happen too...the Tigers just have to go out there and make it happen and get the job done.
