North Bend Central routs Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the road

The North Bend Central Football Team turned in a mighty fine performance Friday night, winning 30-7 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

The game was tied at 7 at the end of one before the Tigers blanked the Raiders 7-0, 7-0, and 9-0 over the next three quarters, respectively, leading 14-7 at halftime, and 21-7 at the end of three.

North Bend Central finished with 179 yards rushing and 164 yards passing offensively for a total of 343. The Tigers held the Raiders to 17 yards rushing on 22 carries and 117 yards passing for a total of 134 yards.

Austin Endorf was 14-29 passing for 164 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Jacob Ray scored 3 TD's for the Tigers and rushed for 80 yards on 20 carries. Ethan Mullally added 81 yards on 21 carries. John Emanuel caught 4 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Ben Rolenc led North Bend Central's defense with 9 tackles. Cody Pospisil and Ethan Mullally each had an interception.

Head Coach Ryan Stieren says his squad performed really well on both sides of the ball. "This was probably the best defensive game that we have played since I have been here. For us to hold them to 17 total yards rushing is huge because Brady Hull is a really good football player and we were just coming off of giving up over 300 yards rushing the previous week. Offensively, we did some good things but we turned the ball over 2 times inside the 10 yard line. They had a really good plan and took away some things that we did well Week 1 but this game showed that we have potential to execute whatever the defense gives us. Jacob Ray and Ethan Mullally (161 yards between them) ran well and I believe our O-Line showed that we can run well."

The Tigers (2-0) look to keep the ball rolling Friday night when they take on Stanton (2-0) at home.

The Mustangs won 28-14 at home over Tekamah-Herman last week.

Stanton is a good team, but if North Bend Central plays like they did last week I don't know if they can be beaten.

The Mustangs haven't really impressed me so far this year whereas the Tigers have.

North Bend Central has come out of the gate strong, and has a huge opportunity in front of them.

This game is definitely for the Tigers' taking, North Bend Central just simply has to go out there and seize the opportunity and moment.

The Tigers surprised me last week, now we'll see if the Tigers can keep things going against Stanton Friday night.

I really think the Mustang defense is going to have a tough time dealing and contending with Endorf.

His passing ability is what stands out to me when I think of this game.

The difference between this year and last year though is the run game, in my opinion.

Last year North Bend Central struggled to run the ball if memory serves me correct.

Well now the Tigers are well balanced and clicking on all cylinders.

North Bend Central can't get too overconfident and cocky, but the Tigers have to be feeling pretty good about where they're at right now.

There's a lot of work to be done yet, but North Bend Central is off to a very fine start.

I would say the only thing the Tigers need to shore up is finishing drives. North Bend Central can't afford turnovers in the end zone against some of the teams on their schedule.

As long as the Tigers keep improving and continue to do what they've done so far this year though they should have a very fine season.

I'm guessing there hasn't been this much excitement around the program in quite some time, and so North Bend Central has to be thrilled with what they are doing, but keep it all in perspective and take things in stride.

The Tigers have to keep doing the things that have gotten them to where they are at right now.

To knock off a power like Stanton would be something, but you can bet the Mustangs will come in with a good game plan and be ready to play themselves.
