Logan View/Scribner-Snyder picks up first win of year over Fort Calhoun
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Football Team won 38-13 at Fort Calhoun Friday night.
The Raiders led 2-0 at the end of one, and blanked the Pioneers 13-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 15-0 lead into the locker room.
The 3rd quarter is when LVSS really went to work as the Raiders outscored Fort Calhoun 23-0 in the frame to lead 38-0 at the end of three.
The Pioneers scored all their points in the 4th quarter and held the Raiders scoreless.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder gave up 294 yards of total offense, 175 coming through the air.
Big win for the Raiders. Much needed as well.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (1-3) takes on Boone Central/Newman Grove (2-2) on the road Friday night.
The Cardinals won 35-6 at Arlington this past Friday night.
Boone Central/Newman Grove's wins are against teams with a combined 0-8 record.
So while the Cardinals' record may be better than the Raiders', Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has played the tougher schedule and had the tougher road so far.
I feel this game is a tremendous opportunity for the Raiders to go into Albion and come away with a gigantic win.
It's also the start of district play, and so now is when things really count.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder no doubt gained some confidence and momentum with last week's win, now they just need to turn into another victory Friday night.
Both teams like to run the ball so this should be a heck of a game from that standpoint.
I look for both squads to really get after one another and make it a heck of a game.
The Raiders have to go hard and give it their all on every play, and complete each play with maximum effort.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to play to win as opposed to not to lose.
The Raiders have to go out there ready to take what's theirs.
LVSS has to take the Bull by the Horns Friday night and just simply roll with it.
This is still pretty much do or die for the Raiders so they have to go out there and put forth a great and tremendous effort.
This is a must win for LVSS with Pierce and West Point-Beemer coming up later on down the line in District Play.
The Raiders need this one to keep any playoff hopes alive that's for sure.
If LVSS loses this one, winning out and winning a district championship, though possible, will be extremely difficult.
The Raiders kind of have to treat this as if it is do or die because really it is, in my opinion.
