McEvoy explodes as Clarkson/Leigh routs Pender

It was the Tommy McEvoy show in Pender Friday night as the Patriot Sophomore rushed for 328 yards on 24 carries, and scored 7 touchdowns while also adding another TD on an interception return to end the 1st half.

The Patriots led 26-0 at the end of one and won the 2nd quarter 12-8 to take a 38-8 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh shutout the Pendragons 16-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 54-8 at the end of three.

The Patriots won the 4th quarter 14-6 en route to the 68-14 victory.

QB Lance Paprocki added 76 yards rushing on 6 carries and a touchdown.

Clarkson/Leigh had 460 yards of offense, including 443 on the ground, while the defense gave up 129 yards of total offense, 68 of them rushing.

All I have to say is WOW, man oh man what a great performance from McEvoy. He was truly a man among boys out there Friday night.

Clarkson/Leigh (2-2) travels to Omaha Christian Academy (0-4) Friday night.

The Eagles lost 70-12 at Mead last week.

This should be a big and easy win for the Patriots.

I look for McEvoy to do his thing and for Clarkson/Leigh to roll.

I think the Patriots are the favorite to win the District based on what I saw Friday night, but Mead and Emerson-Hubbard could still have something to say about that.

I thought the Patriots really whipped the Pendragons up front, and look for Clarkson/Leigh to do the same to Omaha Christian Academy.

This is a game where everyone should get ample playing time.

The Patriots have to come out and take care of business and put the Eagles away early.

Clarkson/Leigh can't let Omaha Christian Academy hang around and think they have a chance.

The Patriots have to deliver the fatal blow early, and put this game out of reach by halftime.

I was very impressed with how ready to play Clarkson/Leigh was Friday night, and I look the Patriots to be ready again this week.

Clarkson/Leigh has to go out there and put together another complete game.

The Patriots can't take anyone lightly or for granted, and that includes the Eagles.

Clarkson/Leigh has to come out and play smashmouth, Northeast Nebraska Football and take it to Omaha Christian Academy.

The Patriots have to use this game as a game to get better for the final 3 regular season games.

The goal is to get better every week, and Clarkson/Leigh has to take even more steps forward this week.

McEvoy had a great game against Parkview Christian and an absolutely off the charts game against Pender so imagine what he'll do against Omaha Christian Academy.

It should be a great and successful night all the way around for the Clarkson/Leigh.

The Patriots should be 3-2 after this game, taking a 3-game winning streak into next week's home game against Cedar Bluffs.
