Howells-Dodge loses on late TD to GACC
The Howells-Dodge Football Team gave GACC all they could handle and them some for 4 quarters at home Friday night, but the Bluejays pulled things out as Jared Minnick scored the game winning TD.
Here is a scoring recap from the game:

The Jaguars went up 20-8 at the end of one before the Bluejays blanked Howells-Dodge 12-0 in the 2nd quarter to tie the game up at 20 at halftime.
GACC shutout the Jaguars 6-0 in the 3rd quarter to lead 26-20 at the end of three.
Howells-Dodge won the 4th quarter 8-6.
Horejsi had 143 yards rushing on 20 carries while Pokorny ran the ball 9 times for 61 yards, and scored once. Pokorny was also 5-10 passing for 53 yards. Kade Hegemann hauled in 4 passes for 50 yards.
Hegemann made 22 tackles while Trevor Schumacher totaled 18. Pokorny and Josh Brester totaled 17 apiece while Lane Hegemann and Carter Throener tallied 9 apiece. Charlie Dvorak added 8.
The Jaguars had 342 yards of total offense, including 289 on the ground.
The defense gave up 340 yards, including 245 on the ground.
It was a great game. One that you hate to see either team lose.
Howells-Dodge (1-1) takes on Wakefield (0-1) on the road Friday night.
The Trojans lost 62-38 at Creighton on Friday, August 24th.
It's hard to know what to expect from Wakefield or know just how good they are, but one thing is for sure...the Trojans will be ready for the Jaguars, especially with an extra week of preparation and practice.
Sometimes it can be tough and not easy to rebound from a tough loss, but Howells-Dodge has to forget about the loss to GACC and get ready to play a game Friday night.
Emotional losses are difficult, especially the manner in which the Jaguars lost last week, but Howells-Dodge can't do anything about the result of the game now and simply has to move on.
The last thing the Jaguars want to be is 1-2 heading into the bye week.
Howells-Dodge is in the midst of 3 very tough games, and getting this one against the Trojans is key and important, in my opinion.
I look for the Jaguars to go up there and find a way to win.
I just can't see Howells-Dodge losing again, especially with the tough game against LHNE coming up on September 21st.
The Jaguars have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks, and the grind continues Friday night at Wakefield.
Howells-Dodge needs good line play and has to limit turnovers.
The Jaguars have to gain good yardage on 1st and 2nd down so 3rd down is easy and manageable.
Howells-Dodge can't afford to fall behind in the game. The Jaguars have to stay in front of the chains, and keep the ball moving on offense.
Horejsi needs to have a big game as well.
More important than offense though could be defense.
Howells-Dodge can't afford to give up as many points as Creighton did to Wakefield.
If the Trojans are on their game offensively this one could be an offensive shootout.
I feel the battle up front will be big, and players like Kade Hegemann have to open up lanes on offense and clog holes on defense in order for the Jaguars to win.
