Wisner-Pilger steamrolls Madison

The Wisner-Pilger Football Team blew out Madison at home Friday night in action heard on 107.9 the Bull, winning 68-20.

The Gators led 32-0 after one and outscored the Dragons 22-6 in the 2nd quarter to lead 54-6 at the break.

Wisner-Pilger won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to go up 62-12 at the end of three.

Madison won the 4th quarter 8-6 to make up the final score.

The Gators gave up 184 yards of total offense, including 102 on the ground.

Wisner-Pilger is playing some great football right now. I thought the Gators exceeded expectations Friday night.

Wisner-Pilger (3-0) takes on Guardian Angels Central Catholic (3-0) on the road Friday night.

The Bluejays won 58-6 at home against Omaha Brownell Talbot last Friday night.

The two teams have one common opponent so far in East Butler, who the Gators beat 42-12 and the Bluejays drilled 68-14.

Based on that score one would have to give GACC the advantage, but Wisner-Pilger is definitely capable of knocking off the Bluejays.

The Gators are a former 11-man team, and the Bluejays have been there too before, but I think GACC is going to have their hands full with Wisner-Pilger.

This is the biggest test of the season for the Gators by far.

Wisner-Pilger hasn't really been tested yet, and this will be their first big test of the season.

The Gators have to go out there and lay the smackdown like they did against Madison last week.

The Bluejays are fresh and well rested coming off the bye week I would imagine so Wisner-Pilger has to step up their game even more than usual.

The Gators have to have a game plan for trying to slow down and stop Jared Minnick.

Minnick is a beast, and can hurt you in more than one way if you aren't prepared.

Wisner-Pilger also has to watch out for Cody Steffen and Jadyn Smeal as well as Casey Doernemann.

All three of these players are lethal weapons for GACC, and have made the Bluejays go all season long so far.

Wisner-Pilger has to get physical and let things fly and get ready for a track meet.

I think this game is going to be a high scoring affair with both offenses exploding.

Both defenses are solid so it could be a case where it's somewhat of a defensive game too, but I expect this one to get into the 30's at least.

The Gators have to come out motivated and ready to prove that they are for real against one of the state's best.

GACC is a perennial power, and if Wisner-Pilger pulls the "upset," if you want to call it that, then it will have been a great and tremendous accomplishment.
