The Howells-Dodge Football Team won 26-16 at Wakefield on Friday, September 7th.

Here is a scoring recap from the game:

The Jaguars led 12-0 at halftime, scoring 6 points in each the 1st and 2nd quarters.

Both teams scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and the score was 20-8 at the end of three.

Wakefield won the 4th quarter 8-6.

Horejsi ran the ball 37 times for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Pokorny was 4-5 passing for 87 yards, including a 58-yard TD strike to Horejsi.

Trevor Schumacher had 9 tackles while Josh Brester made 7.

Howells-Dodge racked up 314 yards of total offense, including 227 on the ground.

Great win for the Jaguars. A definite positive bounce back to the GACC loss the week before.

Howells-Dodge (2-1) hosts Lutheran High Northeast (2-1) Friday night.

The Eagles lost 70-66 at home to Wakefield this past Friday night.

A couple weeks ago I would of given LHNE the advantage coming into this game, but not now.

The Jaguars went on the road and beat the Trojans while the Eagles lost to Wakefield at home.

I think the biggest difference in the game will be defense.

I feel Howells-Dodge has been playing very good defense all season long.

LHNE's defense has struggled more with each passing week, and while the Jaguars don't have the most explosive offense, they are still pretty dang good.

I look for Howells-Dodge to run the ball with Horejsi and grind things out.

The Eagles will want to fly up and down the field and make it a track meet, but I'm sure the Jaguars would prefer to play ball control and eat the clock.

If Howells-Dodge can win time of possession and keep LHNE's offense off the field and score points they should be in good shape.

I think this game will be pretty tight throughout so the Jaguars have to be focused at all times.

Howells-Dodge has to keep their eye on the prize and cannot give in at any time.

The Jaguars have to stick to the game plan and eat clock.

You know Howells-Dodge Head Coach Mike Speirs will have a great game plan, and that's why I look for the Jaguars to win.

If the Jaguars can get this one I feel they'll have a great chance to win out the rest of the regular season and win their district.

This is a big game, and luckily for Howells-Dodge they've had an extra week to prepare.

Not only do the Jaguars get to see their film against Wakefield, but also LHNE's against the Trojans.

This should be a great game, and I look for Howells-Dodge to come out on top and take the game and victory.
