Wisner-Pilger comes up short against GACC
The Wisner-Pilger Football team had GACC on the ropes Friday night, but fell 30-20.
The Bluejays led 14-0 after one before the Gators shutout GACC 20-0 in the 2nd quarter to lead 20-14 at halftime.
That remained the score after 3 before GACC put up 16 points in the 4th quarter to earn the win.
Wisner-Pilger gave up 344 yards of total offense, including 307 rushing.
This had to be a really tough pill to swallow for the Gators. Wisner-Pilger had the Bluejays beat.
The Gators (3-1) host Winnebago (2-2) Friday night.
The Indians whooped Homer 50-6 at home Friday night.
Winnebago is a tough team, and this won't be an easy game for Wisner-Pilger by any means.
The Gators have to get over the disappointment of coming up short against the Bluejays.
The Indians are going to come ready to play, and Wisner-Pilger has to as well.
I fully expect the Gators to find a way to win, but Wisner-Pilger has to shake off Friday's loss if they haven't already.
I feel the Gators are still going to be a big dominant factor in the District and in the playoffs so Wisner-Pilger can't let the loss to GACC get them down or demoralize them.
The Gators have to use it as motivation to get better and fuel to the fire.
Wisner-Pilger knows they can hang with the best of the best now they have to go out there and keep proving themselves.
Players for Winnebago the Gators have to account for include Tyrese Gorrin, T.J. Frenchman, and Prosper Gilpin.
Wisner-Pilger has to be ready to get physical and pound the ball right at the teeth of the Indians' defense.
Winnebago is susceptible to giving up points so the Gators have to put and pour it on the Indians for 4 quarters.
Wisner-Pilger has to come out and prove they are still for real.
I think the Gators have already turned many heads, and a win over Winnebago would be a good answer and way to bounce back from the loss to the Bluejays.
Wisner-Pilger has to be fired up the same way they were against GACC, and play with purpose and authority.
The Gators have to execute the offense, limit penalties, take care of the ball, and create turnovers.
Wisner-Pilger has to finish Winnebago off when they get the chance and not let the Indians hang around.
