Oakland-Craig picks up win at Ponca

The Oakland-Craig Football Team won 30-20 at Ponca Friday night in action that was heard on 107.9 the Bull.

Jared Mulder was 9-12 passing for 141 yards and two interceptions while Garrison Dodge hauled in 4 passes for 71 yards and Jefferson McNeill 3 passes for 64 yards. Robby Mayberry ran the ball 24 time for 126 yards, and scored three times.

Mike Brands made 9 tackles while Tyson Harney and Ian Lundquist registered 8 apiece. Wyatt Uhing made 7.

The Knights had 330 yards of total offense, including 178 rushing.

Big win for Oakland-Craig, who continues to play great football and keep the ball rolling.

The Knights (3-0) host Syracuse (0-3) Friday night.

The Rockets lost 24-6 at home to Falls City this past Friday night.

Syracuse might be 0-3, but they've played some tough teams.

I would say the Rockets are a better team than their record indicates.

With that said, I look for the Knights to crush the Rockets.

I look for Oakland-Craig to win big these next 3 weeks and set the stage for what is to come the last 3 weeks of the season.

The Knights have to be dominant against Syracuse, Tekamah-Herman, and Louisville so the starters can get rest and heal up any wounds or injuries there might be.

Oakland-Craig needs to be at their best at the end of the season, and so far the Knights are on the right track.

I feel Oakland-Craig has played really good football so far, but I think they can play even better.

The Knights are in a stretch of games where they should cruise, but can't coast.

Oakland-Craig has to come and play physical, smashmouth, in your face Football, and take it these next 3 opponents and show no mercy.

These are teams the Knights should dominate and win easily against.

Oakland-Craig has to fine tune and work out any kinks in these next 3 games.

It also might be a time for the Knights to throw in a wrinkle or two teams haven't seen all season.

Oakland-Craig has to be ready to go 110% for 4 quarters like they have been all season.

Executing and fine tuning their craft is going to be important for the Knights I feel.

Continuing to get better and not being complacent or satisfied with where they're at is critical, in my opinion.

Oakland-Craig has to come out and dominate from start to finish, and not let up until the final whistle blows.

It has to be all about winning and improving for the Knights.
