West Point-Beemer knocks off Boys Town on the road

The West Point-Beemer Football Team picked up a big win at Boys Town Friday night, winning 33-13.

The Cadets led the Cowboys 6-0 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 8-6 to take a 14-6 lead into the locker room.

West Point-Beemer blanked Boys Town 6-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 20-6 at the end of three.

The Cadets won the 4th quarter 13-7.

Blake Anderson was a man amongst boys, rushing for 144 yards on 24 carries, and scoring 4 touchdowns. Kirby Hughes ran the ball 13 times for 143 yards, and scored once. Jesus Barragan was 6-8 passing for 78 yards with an interception.

West Point-Beemer racked up 500 yards of offense, 404 of them rushing.

To do that against Boys Town....WOW!!!! The Cadets are really on fire right now.

West Point-Beemer (2-0) takes on Columbus Scotus (1-1) on the road Friday night.

The Shamrocks lost 28-20 at Central City last week.

Scotus beat Aquinas 23-21 the week before though.

This is going to be a great and awfully tough game for the Cadets.

West Point-Beemer is entering unfamiliar territory, a place that is not familiar to these players in terms of playing a high school football game.

The Shamrocks will be ready, you can bet that, so the Cadets have to be ready to go.

With that said, West Point-Beemer dominated Boys Town on the road, I mean dominated the Cowboys.

How often does that happen? Boys Town usually doesn't get beat like that, especially at home.

To rush for over 400 yards and amass 500 yards of total offense against the Cowboys is really saying something.

The Cadets have to turn in a repeat performance this coming Friday night.

West Point-Beemer has to be relentless, and must run the ball right at Scotus.

This should be a great, exciting, and compelling game, and I think the Cadets have all the tools and ability in the world to win.

West Point-Beemer has to go hard at practice the rest of this week, and really get after things.

The Cadets have to hit hard, and give 110% every time they take the field.

West Point-Beemer has to get ready for a physical, smashmouth type of football game Friday night.

The Shamrocks won a State Championship in 2015, and so they are a good team to measure your team's success against.

I'm sure the Cadets have dreams of making it to Memorial Stadium this year and in future years, and West Point-Beemer can certainly take more steps towards making those dreams come true with a win over Scotus Friday night.

A win over Boys Town is great, and another win over the Shamrocks would be pretty sweet too.

We'll see if the Cadets can keep things going Friday night.
