Bancroft-Rosalie falls to Lyons-Decatur Northeast

The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers lost 60-0 at home to Lyons-Decatur Northeast Friday night in the last ever meeting between the two schools.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast scored 28 first quarter points, and added 16 in the second quarter to lead 44-0 at halftime.

The Cougars added 8 points in the third quarter and 8 in the fourth to make up the final score.

Jacob Zuhlke had 16 tackles to lead Bancroft-Rosalie. Tanner Bonneau and Kenyan Lovejoy totaled 13 and 10, respectively. Dayne Wortman and Austin Bruning notched 8 each.

Bancroft-Rosalie posted 115 yards of total offense, all on the ground.

The defense surrendered 410 yards of offense, including 381 on the ground.

It was another tough game for the Panthers. Bancroft-Rosalie has to find a way to be more competitive in future games.

The Panthers (0-4) host Winside (0-4) Friday night.

The Wildcats lost 52-12 at home to Elkhorn Valley last time out.

Winside has been fairly competitive in three of their games this season, and is probably a better team than their record indicates.

Bancroft-Rosalie hasn't come close to winning this year while Winside has.

That doesn't mean the Panthers can't get the job done Friday night though.

Both teams are winless and anything can happen. If Bancroft-Rosalie steps up and plays well they could win.

Despite the fact the Wildcats are winless, I think they will still be tough.

Winside is going to really want this game as are the Panthers.

This is both teams' best chance at a win this season, and I'm sure both will look to get after one another for four quarters.

Bancroft-Rosalie has to step up to the challenge, and do what they can to come out on top. The Panthers definitely have their work cut out for them, but if they can find a way to be better on both sides of the ball they very well may come out on top.

It could be a good game Friday night. Whoever makes more plays and executes the best will probably win. The battle at the line of scrimmage is key as well. Bancroft-Rosalie has to be physical up front, and push people off the ball.
