Logan View nipped by Fremont Bergan
The Logan View Raiders had Fremont Bergan beat Friday night, but victory was grasped out of their hands as the Knights rallied for 13 fourth quarter points to win 19-18 in Fremont.
After neither team scored in the first quarter, both notched 6 points in the second quarter to make it a 6-6 game at halftime. Logan View won the third quarter 12-0 to lead 18-6 at the end of three.
The Raiders gave up 434 yards of offense, including 322 rushing.
Logan View just had to be absolutely sick about losing that game. The Raiders had their hearts ripped right out of their chests. It's a game I'm sure Logan View feels they should have won.
The Raiders (3-3) host Yutan (5-1) Friday night.
The Chieftains defeated Tekamah-Herman 67-6 last time out, and are a tough team.
This game is essentially Logan View's season. It could be win or go home as far as the playoffs are concerned.
The postseason may seem like it's out of reach now with David City Aquinas on the road next week, but the Raiders can't think that way.
If Logan View can win out they might have a shot at the postseason.
It's going to be difficult, but anything can happen.
It would be a big deal for the Raiders to knock off Yutan. The Chieftains have proven to be a solid team this year, and a win over them would be big time for Logan View.
These next two weeks will be very difficult for the Raiders, but Logan View has already been battle tested, and hasn't had the easiest schedule.
The Raiders have to learn how to finish when they get the chance. That's the difference between winning and losing. The ability to close out games is an important skill to have.
We will see if Logan View can get the job done this time around. It is do or die for the Raiders. Logan View has to show up and play well. If they don't, the last two regular season games could be it for the Raiders.
I know Logan View would like the chance to extend their season. That opportunity presents itself Friday night.
