Winnebago falls to GACC
The Winnebago Indians lost 64-6 at Guardian Angels Central Catholic Friday night.
It was a tough loss for Winnebago, but the Bluejays are very good, and I'm sure the Indians tried their best.
Winnebago (2-5) hosts Scribner-Snyder (2-5) Friday night.
The Trojans lost 66-14 at home to Pender last time out, and have had a difficult season themselves.
It hasn't been the type of season Scribner-Snyder was anticipating, and I look for Friday night's game between the Trojans and Indians to be a great one.
Scribner-Snyder might have an outside shot at the playoffs while Winnebago is playing for pride.
I think this game has a chance to be crazy, and I think anything can happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Indians pulled off the win, and sent their seniors out in style while creating some positive momentum for next season.
This is the last time these seniors will dawn the Blue and White of Winnebago, and they have to play their hearts out until the very end as does the entire team.
The Indians have to slow down Michael Broussard, Darnell Sims, and Gunner Palmer.
Those three are legitimate threats to do big things in the ground game for Scribner-Snyder, and are solid players.
Winnebago has to tackle well. It's important for the Indians to wrap up rather than go for the big hit.
Winnebago has to force turnovers, and win the field position battle. The shorter the field for the Indians, the better off they will be.
It should be an electric atmosphere in Winnebago Friday night.
