The Clarkson/Leigh Football team is off to a 4-0 start as the
Patriots knocked off Howells-Dodge 46-6 Friday night, rushing for 359
yards as a team. Head Coach Jim Clarkson says Kobe Paprocki and Bradley
Bunner are big reasons why the Patriots are where they are.
“Those two guys, they’re both really good athletes. And Bradley Bunner is a very fast guy. He got third in the 100 at state there this year and won the Northeast Classic. So he’s got a lot of speed plus he’s a very physical kid to boot. So he’s really hitting his stride. And Kobe is a second year starter, and he is really understanding the offense and doing some really good things. And he had a really nice game on Friday.”
Paprocki had 174 yards rushing and accounted for five touchdowns against the Jaguars. Bunner ran for 154 yards and found the end zone twice.
Paprocki was 5-7 passing for 140 yards while Seth Thompson had one catch for 63 yards, which was good enough for a touchdown. Dominik Harper had 3 catches for 60 yards.
Tyrell Pokorney had 13 tackles while Bunner totaled 12. Thompson made 11. Brandon Steffensmeier notched 7.
The Patriots amassed 499 yards of offense.
The defense gave up 324 yards, including 177 rushing.
Neither team scored in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Patriots notched 14 points to lead 14-0 at halftime.
Clarkson/Leigh added 20 points in the third quarter to go up 34-0 at the end of three. The Patriots doubled up Howells-Dodge 12-6 in the fourth quarter.

Clarkson/Leigh meets 3-1 Fullerton in Leigh Friday night. Clarkson says the Warriors won’t be easy to beat.
“Well they’re going to be tough. They’re a good football team. They’re very big up front. They have some good athletes on the back end. They’ve had a lot of success the last few years. They really stuck it to us last year pretty good so we need to have our minds right. We can’t have any hangover left over from the Howells-Dodge game. And our kids need to be ready. And hopefully when they come up here we’ll be ready to go. But they’re definitely going to be a tough challenge.”
Fullerton won last year’s game 58-14. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 on Friday. Pregame is set for 6:40 on 107.9 the Bull.
I think the Patriots are due to get the job done Friday night. The Warriors haven't really beaten anyone good this year while Clarkson/Leigh has pretty much rolled everyone they've played so far.
We will find out how good this Patriots' team is Friday night. I think they're good, and a win over Fullerton would only solidify their status as a team to be reckoned with.
Clarkson/Leigh is getting better each week, and their run game has been dominant throughout the season.
The Patriots aren't just one dimensional though. They can pass the ball too.
The Warriors gave up 437 yards of offense to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, including 279 through the air.
I think Clarkson/Leigh has a good chance to have success running and throwing the ball on Fullerton.
The Warriors only beat Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 66-54 after going up 30-0 at the end of one.
I don't think the Warriors are quite the same team they have been the past few years or so. Fullerton is still good, but the Patriots are having a special season, and are much better than they were last year, and I that's why I think Clarkson/Leigh will win Friday night.
