Pender wins over Omaha Nation by forfeit

The Pender Pendragons improved to 4-1 on the year with a forfeit win over Omaha Nation.

The only good thing about not playing is Pender has more time to prepare for Guardian Angels Central Catholic and they could get healed and rested up.

The Pendragons host the Bluejays (5-0) Friday night.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic defeated Scribner-Snyder 74-16 at home Friday night.

The Bluejays have certainly played amazing football since their first game of the season. GACC has come to play ever since their scare against High Plains Community, and has been difficult to contend with.

Pender is going to have to step up their game big time if they are to compete with and beat the Bluejays.

I look at this game the way I saw the Creighton game. I saw an opportunity for the Pendragons to step up and do something, but it just wasn't meant to be against the Bulldogs.

I also look at this game as an opportunity for Pender to compete with the big boys. We will see what the Pendragons are made of, and if they can do anything to compete with and hang with GACC.

Pender has to slow down Tanner Hass. He had 198 yards rushing with four touchdowns against the Trojans, and has been a major force all season.

Lorenzo Duenas has to have a big game running the ball for the Pendragons.

Pender has to do what they can to establish the run while slowing down the Bluejays' run game.

If the Pendragons can win the battle at the line of scrimmage they may have a chance.

GACC is really good, but Pender can't be intimidated by the Bluejays. The Pendragons have to play their game and execute just like they would in any other game.

Friday night's game is scheduled to kickoff at 8:00. The game will be aired on 107.9 the Bull with pregame at 7:40.
