Winnebago loses at home to Hartington-Newcastle

The Winnebago Indians lost 64-48 at home to Hartington-Newcastle Friday night.

Winnebago came close to winning, but just couldn't quite get the job done. The game had to be frustrating, yet encouraging at the same time as the Indians competed hard.

Winnebago (1-4) is set to take on Omaha Nation (1-4) at home Friday night.

The Chiefs forfeited to Pender last week, and I'm not 100% sure if Omaha Nation will be able to make the trip to Winnebago this week.

I haven't seen anything that indicates the Chiefs are forfeiting though so I'm going to guess they are playing.

The Indians have a good chance at picking up a win Friday night. Omaha Nation is low on numbers, and has had a difficult time competing this year so I suspect Winnebago will find a way to win Friday night.

The Indians' defense has to be much better than it was though. Winnebago can't give up 64 points and expect to win.

With that said, I look for Friday night's game to be a shootout.

I think the Indians will come out on top, but they have to play well. Winnebago has to play a complete four quarter game, and score as many points as possible.

The Indians aren't going to the playoffs so this game, and season for that matter, is all about playing for pride.

Winnebago has to play for their school, the fans, and the community.

The Indians have to represent Winnebago the best they can and make everyone proud.

A win over the Chiefs would certainly make everyone happy.

It will be interesting to see if the Indians can notch their second win of the season.
